HP Mini 210-1095NR a good buy

Post By admin October 17, 2010 - 10:22 am Comments Off

HP Mini 210-1095NR Item arrived earlier than predicted. I love my mini. It is very light. but the battery does not last 9.75 hrs as it says in the title. Every 10% of the batter is about 45 minutes. I can get about 6 hours with the battery fully charged. I am a grad student and need my laptop in class and there is no way im dragging my 14.5′ around everyday. Even though the batter doesn’t last 9 hrs but it is enough for you to have it for the day. and yes the background cannot be changed but there are themes you can download if you google ph mini background and then you can change it to any picture that you want. Unlike some other reviews I didnt find it difficult to play any video clips. I really like my mini.

Best Travel NetBook – Comparing Toshiba Satellite L645D-S4036 vs ASUS

Post By admin October 14, 2010 - 4:19 am Comments Off

Toshiba Satellite L645D-S4036 Over the past months of August and now into September, I poured over all the latest Netbook Reviews from Cnet to Amazon to Engadget, attempting to find the best 12 to 13-inch Netbook, either currently available, or about to be released by the end of September. These models cost more than the Wal-Mart, Best Buy $299 Specials, because the are definitely Upgraded in the CPU, GPU & RAM area’s.
I was looking for something lightweight, with stable operating system, that would be great for Email, Skype, documents, movies, photos, & music; and if it had a SuperDrive, that would make it pretty sweet.I had been keeping my interest in the ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1201N-PU17-BK 12.1-Inch Black Netbook – for around $480.00; since it was loaded with Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit, and NOT the dinosaur XP OS, which was the main reason I switched over to Mac, after many years of pure hell and frustration, besides Mac works extremely well in my Scientific environment. Engadget did announced that ASUS was releasing the next souped-up evolution of the 1201N, being the New 1215N, in July, which was suppose to be retailing for over $500 bills. So I contacted ASUS and was emailed back a response that the 1215N, was indeed due to release in September. However, Promises made … Promises Not.
I then made an interesting discovery of a web site, with the first word that describes a farm animal that cries, “Moo”, plus Boom; and they had a late model Macbook, MC516LL/A, 13.3 inch, with a SuperDrive for $650 + Free Shipping, it was a No Brainer, when I compared it with these ASUS Netbooks. I haven’t looked back!
Perhaps this review will be of some help to those considering buying a Netbook that will last more longer than most Netbooks and have the capacity to grow with your demands.

Acer Aspire AS5251-1805 First Windows 7 Laptop

Post By admin October 14, 2010 - 4:04 am Comments Off

Acer Aspire AS5251-1805 is an excellent laptop for $379. Acer makes excellent laptops and this one is no different. This is my first Windows 7 computer and second Acer laptop. I have used Windows 7 before and I like the interface. Recently my dell vostro laptop started developing issues and began giving me too much trouble. That is when I started shopping and found this great laptop on Amazon for this attractive price. It only took me around 15 minutes to set everything up and later on I burned all the recovery discs and drivers. It takes time to burn all this on to 4 DVDs.

Mostly I use the mac and for some of my school work I am more used to working on a Windows system and this laptop does the job well. This laptop comes well equipped with features. The graphics is very good and the sound is alright. Even with my old Acer laptop which used a technology called the Signalup technology for WiFi, it was good. Now this one comes with Nplify technology which is supposed to be really good on WiFi performance. A full sized keyboard is very convenient. There is no Caps Lock on or Num Lock on indicator. It could be useful at times. But every time it is displayed on the screen when the Caps Lock or Num Lock is turned on or off. So it is even better to those who like this feature.

I do not play games on the computer and I cannot comment anything on that. Only drawback is the battery life which is not enough if the user is to stay away from a power source for long. For me this laptop is mainly for home use and for my school work and the battery life is not an issue for me. In the first two days while I tested it the battery lasted around 3 hours. Another minor issue I have is there are no USB ports on the back. Since this is a desktop replacement for me it would have been useful to have a usb port on the back to connect a printer or a USB mouse.

Overall this is a great laptop. This laptop is more than enough for basic use and when technology keeps changing fast which will, then the buyer will not have to regret about having spent too much money.

Excellent Midrange Laptop with power, speed, and flexibility; perfect!

Post By sintorn May 17, 2010 - 7:49 am Comments Off

Best cheap notebook:Obviously, buying a laptop is not a light consideration, especially when you have been working toward it for a while like me. So naturally upon booting up I immediately put it through the ringer. I loaded a printer, scanner and second monitor into the USBs, then used Nero to burn a DVD while watching Futurama on the monitor and Inglorious Basterds playing in 1080p on the main screen. Additionally I had iTunes doing a mass conversion while scanning some images in the background, with BitTorrent and Limerwire downloading and WinAVI converter making a .VOB as well. I had NO problems whatsoever = no lag, no image interlacing, no errors or delays in the converting/burning, no internet problems, no scanning issues or anything. That immediately sold it for me; if it can handle all the tasks I use most frequently all at once and look terrific doing it, who am I to complain? Readmore…

Cheap ipad an excellent consumption device with some carefully chosen compromises

Post By sintorn May 16, 2010 - 5:59 am Comments Off

Cheap ipad:I think this thing will end up being kinda big. It is not perfect (typing at length without a keyboard attached, for example… but at least you can bluetooth a keyboard to it) but there will be a large number of interesting apps and games (there are already a number of eyebrow-raising apps out there such as virtual touchscreen music controllers, board/card game simulators, and streaming media consumption apps). It is in fact not merely a giant iPod Touch, although to be sure that is some of it. Huge pluses are the interface responsiveness at all times and the long battery life coupled with the size/weight. (Hate it or not, that is what you get when 1 company designs the chip, the OS and all the other hardware.) It does not have a really powerful CPU, though, but you won it notice unless you attempt a heavy data-processing task such as running HTML5 Javascript Canvas demos. 3D games work surprisingly well. When OS 4 comes out, the multitasking will make this even more killer. The games coming out are really cool, for what that is worth. Readmore…
