This TV has a very sharp picture with true vibrant color that is spot on. I barely changed any of the factory settings with regard to the picture. The sound is decent but took some fiddling with the setups. I typically always watch this TV through the surround sound system plus Im no audiophile so its fine for me when running through the unit speakers. The backlight can be a little bright in the corners from time to time but it is ONLY visible when the screen is completely black. You can eliminate this if you chose to do so by setting it to a lower level. I love the picture as is and have opted to leave it be. I have been around home theater for a while and have roots back to RGB projection (think Ampro and Barco) and I must say that the JVC is an excellent buy. Just remember, if you are reading this as you are looking for your first set, be aware that your display usually doesnt get much better than your source signal. I have not had it long, but I will say that once you adjust the picture/calibrate this lcd combo, you will see that it really does a good job. There are better displays…but you will pay more for them. Very good tv for the price. The blu-ray player is built-in and processes data better than a standalone that I tried which has the HVQ chip. Delivered in a timely manner and as advertised. This is a nice TV. Took it out of the box and hooked it up with no problems. Picture quality does depend on the quality of the input signal, think about it. I have it hooked up to a good cable signal and the picture is great. Nice selection of inputs. Only complaint is the speaker volume. In a quiet room there wouldnt be a problem. I watch it while riding my Airdyne exercise bike and it needs the aux. speakers I hooked up to it so I can hear it above the ambient noise. Still was a good buy. Readmore…
